As a travel consultant, you are the grand master of multitasking! Jumping nimbly from calls with travellers to confirming reservations to catching up on the latest industry news (and a side of office gossip), you have got it all waxed.
But even the master can learn a new trick or two. Below are a few simple and easy tips to help level up your Travelogic Quoting Mastery:
TIP 1: GET FAMILIAR WITH YOUR SUPPLIER DATABASE
Knowing what weapons are in your arsenal, will prepare you to take on a quotation in the best way possible. Not only will it make planning the day to day of the itinerary much easier, but it will also improve the speed at which quotes are served.
TIP 2: USE ‘FIND SERVICES’ INSTEAD OF ‘ADD SERVICES’
The ‘Find Services’ function allows easily filtering through suppliers and services in your digital dojo and provides a quick overview of what matches the search criteria without too much investigation:
Doing multiple searches combined with the ‘Add to Itinerary’ button will drop services into the quote as you go without having to close the window each time.
TIP 3: SPLIT ALLOCATIONS
Split Allocations should be used to include services in a quotation that may not be applicable all of the travellers within a party. For example, if 2 travellers in a 4 party group would like to do a wine tasting, simply add the services associated with that activity and allocate it to only 2 of the travellers.
Here is a full guide on how to do this.
TIP 4: SEND AUTOMATED RESERVATION REQUESTS
After defying all expectations and putting together the traveller’s dream itinerary, they are getting ready to book – slip over to the Reservations tab to manage supplier bookings in one place accessible to you and everyone else in your team.
Subject to telephonic or online availability at the time of quoting, you can shoot off a confirmed or provisional reservation email straight from Travelogic, find out more here.
TIP 5: MAKE COPIES
Another quick way to kill the competition would be to make a copy of a quotation that already exists and make a few amendments. Quotations can be copied within a request or can be copied from another request.
Additionally, using the ‘Copy Service’ function will have you flying through quote creation or amendments. For example, copy the ‘Transfer In’ service on Day 1 as the ‘Transfer Out’ service on Day 5 or 25; the correct rate valid for that period will automatically pull through (if loaded).
Note: Some of this functionality is only available in the TL4.6 update
